THE HISTORY OF THE VINTAGE HOUSE
The Vintage House was founded during the Second World War by native Italians Leo Donati and his wife, who had emigrated to the UK between the wars. George Mullin, the father of the current Managing Director Malcolm Mullin, was an American Air Force Officer who married their only child Diana and took over the running of the company on Leo’s death shortly after the war’s end. Under George’s leadership the company became well known in both the retail and wholesale sectors as specialists in fine wine and spirits until his untimely death in 1972. Since then the company has continued to evolve and now stocks over 5,000 products including 1,400+ malt whiskies, 300+ rums, and a large selection of cigars. These can be purchased from www.sohowhisky.com.
THE SOHO WHISKY CLUB
The Soho Whisky Club utilises part of the premises that was previously unseen by customers and used by The Vintage House for offices and storage. It has now been transformed into a comfortable and elegant club where members can try over 300 malts, as well as other spirits and wines. There is also a smoking terrace where one can enjoy a selection of the finest cigars. Members can enjoy a series of tutored tasting events throughout the year.
